Samuel John Peploe, R.S.A. (1871-1935), portrait of Jeanie Blyth, oil on canvas, signed, 20" x 20" This is a portrait of Jeanie Blyth, a gypsy flower seller who posed for Peploe on many occasions from the age of fifteen or sixteen. and was said to have been one of Peploe's favourite models. There is a portrait of her in the National Gallery for Scotland and another was sold by Christies lot 188 on 26th October 2000. The inscription on the back of the picture states that she was 24/5 when it was painted.

PROVENANCE; Inscribed verso in ink. Bought from Ian McNicol. (Glasgow) Acquired in the 1980s by James Gulliver and thence by descent.
