Pair of 18th century French silver candlesticks, circa 1770 with multi knopped stems on octagonal bases, engraved with crests, Paris marks, 36ozs, 9" high
PROVENANCE; By direct descent from the family of Baron de Bosmelet, Chateaux du Fosse, Seine Maritime

Drip pans are detachable. Only one drip pan has a crest. Base of one candlestick is badly misshapen and column is at an angle so the candlestick wobbles. Base of other also misshapen, column at slight angle and candlestick wobbles. Scratches to drip pans. Separation around inner rim of one drip pan. Hallmarks are on the underside of the base. Split to base of one candlestick.
