Free valuation for sale.

We offer a free valuation service for any item that clients wish to sell and bring in to our saleroom. We are open for consignments and valuations from 9.30-5.00 Monday to Friday although it is best to avoid sale days. If you have a collection or a complete house contents, please contact us and ask for one of our Valuers to arrange to come and see you. Alternatively for an informal valuation you can email us sending us images although email valuations are always subject to inspection later.

 

Transport

We can put you in touch with carriers where necessary to enable you to make any necessary transport arrangements (at your cost)

 

Reserves

We usually recommend that higher value lots are sold with reserves and these must be no higher than the low end of the sale estimate. We also recommend that you give the auctioneer discretion to sell under reserve if necessary, which gives us a 20% leeway.

 

Before the auction

You will receive notification of the lot numbers of your property and can collect a complimentary illustrated catalogue from the saleroom, usually about one week before the sale. You are of course welcome to come to the view or attend the auction if you wish or to watch it on line on one of our auction platforms.

 

Settlement

Sale results are published on our website as the sale progresses and settlement is usually made four weeks after the sale, subject to normal business conditions and to purchase money having been received from the buyers.

 

Comission Charges

Our vendor's commission is charged per lot as follows

15% for all lots

internet and marketing charge £10.00 per lot (applies to both sold and unsold lots)

Charge for printed catalogue illustrations £10.00 per lot (applies to both sold and unsold lots)

Loss and damage warranty is charged at 1.5% of hammer price.

All of the above charges are subject to VAT (currently 20%)

Commission rates are Negotiable for high value consignments and collections
