Ewbank's are currently looking to fill two vacancies:

  

1. Head Photographer

Working at Ewbank’s Surrey Auction House, the Head Photographer shoots high quality, still life and creative photography for Ewbank's printed and online auction catalogues.

Reporting to the Sale Room Manager the Head Photographer will work closely with the partners, saleroom manager, assistant manager and saleroom valuation staff. The role of Photographer provides all areas of the business with commercial and creative photography.

We are looking for a talented and highly creative photographer who can work quickly and effectively taking catalogue quality photos working to tight timeframes and organising the other junior photographer(s).

This role is ideal for a hard-working, creative and self-motivated individual. High standards, a passion for photography with an interest in Art, Antiques and Memorabilia an advantage, understanding of products and a desire to create the best quality images are essential. Experience of working in an auction environment an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To shoot high quality still life photography at volume to tight rolling deadlines for Ewbanks.
  • To consistently produce high quality imagery, taking ownership and responsibility for the quality and quantity of your output.
  • To provide high quality imagery for editorial features or marketing collateral.
  • Photo editing / video editing skills required.
  • To work using photoshop or other photo editing software, web based browsers, Ewbank’s back office system (Microsoft NAVISION)
  • To maintain a consistent and organised work-flow, meet weekly task deadlines and aiming to exceed targets and deadlines.
  • To use own initiative and take responsibility.
  • To prepare your working set, checking that all equipment is fully functional and correctly maintained, working with manager / partners and all photographers.
  • Image selection, naming, cropping and processing of all images shot, maintaining file size and any relevant specifications
  • Communicating with management and partners to increase efficiency and maximum output.
  • To take an active interest in product knowledge of antiques / art / memorabilia auctions.
  • To actively share best practices with the team, and help mentor new staff.
  • To take responsibility for the studios
  • To effectively organise a team
  • To work to strict deadlines.
  • To assit in other areas of the business as required on auction days.
  • To fit in with an enthusiastic and young team
  • Driving licence required

Full time, salary range: c£23k p/a depending on experience
